We Are Who You Once Were

Announcement!

We live in an age whose chief moral value has been determined by an overwhelming consensus to be the absolute liberty of personal volition, [which is] the power of each of us to choose what he/she believes, wants, needs, or must possess…the will we believe is sovereign because [it is] un-premised; free because [it is] spontaneous, and this is the highest good…And so, at the end of modernity, each of us…stands, not facing God…but an abyss over which presides the empty, inviolable authority of the individual will, whose impulses and discussions are their own moral index, indeed an oddity of sadness, but nonetheless a reflection of the deterioration of our times.

The Orthodox Anglican Church encourages all to “return home”; embellish the continuation of faith, tradition, morays and sanctity as prescribed and directed by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We encourage your Sunday Visitation…”the time is now neigh at hand…”

"Never, never, never let anyone tell you that, in order to be Orthodox, you must also be Eastern . The West was Orthodox for a thousand years, and her venerable liturgy is far older than any of her heresies." (Saint John Maximovitch)

Encouraged and inspired by these words, St Thomas the Apostle lovingly maintains the Western Orthodox Rite, celebrating the Divine Liturgy according to the ancient rite dating from the time when the West was still firmly Orthodox in its faith and observance. The ancient chants of the Western Church are used in all services, sung in traditional, liturgical English.

To all Orthodox believers seeking to recover and maintain the ancient Orthodox tradition of the West - the tradition that nurtured such familiar saints as Benedict, Bede, Ambrose, Boniface, Bridget, Aidan, Patrick, Augustine, Monica and Columba, and a thousand more – St Thomas the Apostle offers its prayers, its services and its welcome.
